Game Of Thrones

Winter has come to Westeros at last, and we’ll be able to see the events unfold on the final season of HBO’s epic smash hit series ‘Game of Thrones’ in April of 2019! While the exact day has yet to be revealed, we know the show airs on Sunday nights so the premiere can be narrowed down to any of the following dates: The 7th, the 14th, the 21st, or the 28th.

In some ways, it seems amazing that eight seven seasons have already passed as George R.R. Martin‘s story feels like it could have gone on for another season or two without stretching the plot at all. However, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss would want the show to come to an end so they can start working on their new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.

HBO confirmed the release month if not the exact date in the epic recap teaser below:

With a shortened final season, many of the fans were worried that we would have a long wait until we can visit Westeros for one last time, at least before the eventual prequel shows arrive. While the first six seasons all premiered in April or late March, Season 7 dropped in July and with the high production costs and post-production work involved in bringing Season 8 together, it felt like we would have another delayed release on our hands. Thankfully, that isn’t the case.

We also still have the ‘Game of Thrones’ special to look forward to though it probably isn’t slated to air until after the series comes to a close.
