David Benioff And D.B. Weiss Will Begin Work On Their "Star Wars" Trilogy Once 'Game Of Thrones' Ends

The entire future of the “Star Wars” franchise is up in the air at this time with Disney and Lucasfilm potentially putting less films into development, but we do know that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are slated to begin working on their trilogy soon. The current timeline has them beginning to flesh out their story once post-production on ‘Game of Thrones‘ comes to an end for HBO as they finish hammering out the last details of the final season.

With Westeros firmly in the rear view, these titans of entertainment are going to begin their journey to a galaxy far, far away. We know that the pair is set to be working on a trilogy in some capacity, though the exact details have never been made public so we don’t know if they’ll be producing, writing, or directing the upcoming movies. With the films not even actively in development yet, it isn’t also evident when they’ll be filmed let alone released.

For anyone who is hoping that the pair will spill the beans on what they’ll be working on, you shouldn’t hold your breath for early details. According to the pair they’ve been speaking to Rian Johnson (‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’) and Kathleen Kennedy about what to do when they begin work and according to Weiss:

“They’ve given us a lot of hints about how to lock things down, things we never would have thought of or didn’t know were possible.”

It sounds like whatever the duo have in store for us it will be quite some time until we learn any of the details.
