Sean Bean has shared in a recent interview that we’ll be getting a ‘Game of Thrones‘ special for the series. It isn’t clear if this will air before the final season or after it wraps, but it looks like the entire cast and crew from all the seasons have gotten together and that it will be hosted by Conan O’Brien.
Bean was asked if he still communicates with any of the stars from the show and accidentally let news of the special slip:
“Nobody, nobody at all! I’ve only seen them on a couple of occasions. Last time, was about four weeks ago in Belfast. Conan O’Brien did this thing. It was the last episode, so we all got together. It was good! It’s funny with work; you don’t really keep in touch. You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It’s just like whenever I see old friends or even old drama school friends, it’s just the same; we pick up where we left off last time.”
In a world that is overly secretive, it was fun to see Bean had no problem sharing details about the special:
“Yes, it was for season eight, the last one. So they decided to get all the characters together for a bit for this big show in Belfast and he kind of hosted the evening.”
This sheds a bit of light as to all of the rumors we heard about Jason Momoa being back on set for filming during the final season of ‘Game of Thrones.’ It might likely be that he isn’t back to reprise his role as Khal Drogo but instead was there for this event.
