Right after we learned that Netflix was cancelling ‘Iron Fist‘ we found out that they were also bringing ‘Luke Cage‘ to an end and showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has opened up about being axed. While low ratings and poor reviews have haunted ‘Iron Fist’ from the first season, it sounds like creative differences were to blame for ‘Luke Cage.’
With the second season being left off expecting a third season to be able to wrap things up with the massive cliffhanger we were given, that no longer seems to be the case.
Unfortunately, Coker doesn’t give us any indication as to what we can expect from these Marvel characters going forward:
A lot memories. A lot of individual thank you calls to make. Just want to say thank you to Marvel, Netflix, the best Writer’s room, cast, crew, the Midnight Hour, all those who graced the stage at Harlem’s Paradise and the most incredible fan base in the world. Forward always…

Likely, this is something that he doesn’t currently know of or isn’t allowed to talk about at this time. Fans are probably hoping that there will somehow be a ‘Heroes for Hire’ show to take the place of these two and bring the two heroes back together. However, they were so far apart when things were left off that it seems a stretch to see how they can wrap up how both of these shows ended their last seasons and move forward.
Do you agree with Netflix’s decisions to cancel these two shows? What are the chances that they’re only doing so to bring us ‘Heroes for Hire’ down the line? Was the series actually brought to an end simply due to creative differences? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True believers!
