Aliens: Resistance

For those of us who can’t get enough of space marines going up against Xenomorphs, you have reason to be excited as Dark Horse Comics is set to give us ‘Aliens: Resistance.’ The book is slated to take place well after the events of ‘Alien‘ and put a focus on Amanda Ripley who is the daughter of Ellen Ripley. She was first mentioned in a cutscene from ‘Aliens’ and ended up being the star of the 2014 video game ‘Alien: Isolation’ that brought her character directly into the line of fire when it came to these aliens who plague humanity.

The book is being put together by writer Bryan Wood, which will have the art handled by Robert Carey, with colors by Dan Jackson, and finally lettering by Nate Piekos.

This 4-part series is slated to tell more of Amanda’s story that takes place after the events of ‘Alien: Isolation’ and is set to mirror what her mother ended up going through in a world full of galactic corporations and xenomorphs.

If you want to know exactly what to expect in the book, Dark Horse has released the following synopsis:

Now, in Aliens: Resistance, Ripley is kept silent by Weyland-Yutani now that the xenomorph threat has been brought to light. But when Zula Hendricks, the Ex-Colonial Marine from Aliens: Defiance, arrives in need of Ripley’s help to expose a sinister bio-weapons program, the duo teams up to lead a resistance against an upgraded arsenal designed to keep the darkest atrocities secret!

I’m hoping that you won’t have the be familiar with the game to fully enjoy this story, but we’ll be finding that out early next year when the book is released.
