arrowverse crossover

This year’s Arrowverse crossover will scale back considerably from those of the previous two years, the all-star ‘Invasion!’ and ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ epics.  The ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will be sitting this one out, while the heroes from ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ will head to Earth-1’s Gotham City for the first time.  This more “personal” storyline will introduce ‘Orange is the New Black’ star Ruby Rose as fledgling crime fighter Batwoman, with an eye on spinning her off into her own series come fall 2019, if her guest appearance here clicks with watchers.

Now, The CW has announced when this mashup will take place and there are some scheduling changes.  Consider this an early Christmas present!  There is still no title for the event, but part one of the story begins on ‘The Flash’ episode which airs on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at 8pm EST.  Please note that this will regularly be the time slot for ‘Supergirl’ when the fall season kicks off.  Part two takes place on ‘Arrow’, which airs on its normal night and time on Monday, December 10, at 8pm.  ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will air afterward, but as stated, it won’t be part of this storyline.  The third and final chapter will take place on ‘Supergirl’ which will air just this once on Tuesday night, December 11, at 8pm.  These will be the final new episodes for the first half of the upcoming seasons.  The shows will then go on hiatus and return early in 2019.

This fall, The CW has added a fifth night of programming, Sundays.  As you may recall, earlier this year, with the release of new series ‘Black Lightning’ (which is not part of the Arrowverse), ‘Supergirl’ had to be taken off the schedule with ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ taking that show’s place to finish up its third season.  Once that was over, ‘Supergirl’ returned to finish its third season.

As for the new fall season, ‘The Flash’ races back on Tuesday, October 9th at 8pm.  ‘Supergirl’ will nestle into its new home on Sunday, October 14th, at 8pm.  ‘Arrow’ returns on Sunday, October 14th at 8pm and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will return on Thursday, October 22nd at 9pm.
