Karan Soni (‘The Goldbergs’,’Office Christmas Party’) cracked audiences up when he was introduced as Dopinder in ‘Deadpool‘ and fans were thrilled to see him in ‘Deadpool 2.’ With ‘Deadpool 3’ potentially not happening in favor of an ‘X-Force’ movie it may have been the last time in the foreseeable future that we’d see Soni play the part, but now that doesn’t look to be the case!
During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con it was revealed by Ryan Reynolds that:
“My opinion he’s absolutely a part of X-Force. He’s the backbone of the operation until he’s brutally murdered in the first scene of the next movie.”
As not only the actor who plays Deadpool but a co-writer and co-producer of the most recent film, he would know! It isn’t clear if the entire statement here was a joke or if they actually just spoiled the introduction to ‘X-Force.’
Either way, co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick doubled down on the joke saying that not only was Dopinder going to die in the first scene of ‘X-Force’ but that all of the characters would bite the big one. However, it is something which would only be seen in the extended cut.
With Reynolds and these two involved you can never tell if this is a joke or if a scene with the extended cut will show this and be how Wade Wilson ends up losing his time travel device when he goes back to fix it before ‘X-Force’ actually starts.
