deadpool 2 x-force

We already know that the ‘X-Force’ is being introduced in ‘Deadpool 2‘ but now one of the film’s two writers is opening up on what he expects from the team going forward. ‘Logan‘ and the first ‘Deadpool‘ have proven that an R-rated formula works great for this style of superhero movie and Rhett Reese, who co-penned the first two ‘Deadpool’ films, wants the franchise to double down on that going forward.

In fact, he has some ideas as to exactly how he’d like the next installment to look like:

“I think the fun part of X-Force is they’re much more morally flexible than the X-Men. They can get their hands dirty a little bit. There’s more grey area. It’ll be raunchier; it’ll be rated R, I’m sure. We’ll get to see an ensemble movie that’s pushed, hopefully, as far as the Deadpool individual movie was pushed.”

For fans of the comics, Cable has long been known to use extreme methods to change the future from being ruined and has used X-Force as a surgical strike force to do just that. It sounds as if Reese is supporting either a version of that or for the team just to be dealing with today’s issues without a future component involved.

Either way, if Reese’s vision is realized, it sounds like fans will have something fun to see.

The downside is that whatever we do end up seeing likely won’t put Wolverine and Deadpool on the same team.

Do you feel that ‘X-Force’ will end up being a “raunchier” movie as the team uses their “flexible” morals to deal with whatever super villain comes next? Which villain or group of villains would you love to see ‘X-Force’ go up against when they have their own stand-alone film? How do you think Deadpool and Cable will work together in the next outing?
