Men In Black

Filming is underway for the new ‘Men In Black’ spin-off starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson and now we have our first look at the pair suited up for their roles.  Hemsworth plays a British MIB operative, Agent H, while Thompson plays a UFO conspiracy theorist named Molly a.k.a. Em, who will presumably become Agent M by the end of the movie.

Check out the new set pictures below:

‘Straight Outta Compton”s F. Gary Gray is directing this extension of the classic franchise which was previously spearheaded by Barry Sonnenfeld.  Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rafe Spall and Kumail Nanjiani also star, with Emma Thompson reprising her role from ‘Men In Black III’, Agent O.  Nanjiani is portraying an alien sidekick character named Pawny, while ‘Jurassic World” Fallen Kingdom”s Spall is believed to be playing the baddie.  The film is currently shooting in London.

Beyond that, not much else is known about the new movie.  It has long been believed that this is not a reboot of the previous franchise which starred Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, but rather an extension, featuring the exploits of other agents in the same organization.  Emma Thompson’s inclusion seems to confirm that.  Reportedly, this picture will be more global in scale than the first three which were based in the United States.  This new film appears to be echoing the first movie somewhat in that Hemsworth’s Agent H is an experienced operative tasked with training new recruit Em.

This new take on ‘Men In Black’ doesn’t yet have an official name, but that should be coming soon.  This movie is due in theaters on May 14, 2019.
