‘Ant-Man and the Wasp‘ is known to be the comedic element of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that was represented perfectly by newcomer Randall Park (‘VEEP’,’Fresh Off the Boat’)! As FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, Park stole almost every scene that he was in and filled theaters with laughter at his spot on timing and interactions with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. Honestly, I’m wondering if James Wan will be using his humor in ‘Aquaman‘ or if we’ll be seeing him as a serious character when he takes on the part of Dr. Stephen Shin.
According to Park, he didn’t just take the role to be part of the MCU:
“I’m such a fan of the first ‘Ant-Man’ movie. One thing that I loved about it was that it was so funny. It is a dream come true. It’s incredible; I’m so glad to be a part of it.”
I’m pretty sure audiences were glad that Park was part of the action as well! What is always fun to see is that the actor took the part seriously and did some research as to precisely who Jimmy Woo is. As someone who was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent over the years and has worked with Nick Fury, Woo has quite an exciting past.
As to what he thinks of the main characters superpowers?
“I think actually being able to wear a suit that shrinks you down to size and enables you to get as big as possible, that would be pretty cool. It’s almost like being invisible if you’re that small, and it would be cool to be invisible every now and then.”
As to going the other direction, Park wouldn’t want to be giant on a daily basis but:
“I’ve always wanted to be just a little taller. I would grow myself just like a few more inches because I think that would be cool too.”
Jimmy Woo was a great addition to the “Ant-Man” films, and hopefully, we’ll see him show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe even beyond that while the FBI takes on the role which S.H.I.E.L.D. once filled.
