With HBO’s smash hit ‘Game of Thrones‘ finishing up filming for various characters we’ve seen another actor give themselves a social media send off and this time it is Arya Stark herself, Maisie Williams. Not only does she say goodbye to the show in style but does so in a way that is going to make us all question what her farewell means until the season finale drops in 2019. The actress will never be “no one” as her fans will want her to be in a slew of new shows or films going forward, but for now “the North remembers” what she’s done and can’t wait to see how she concludes her run on the series.
Her goodbye is a simple and heartfelt one, but one hashtag also stands out. Here is what she had to say about finishing production on Instagram:
“Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely #immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep.”
It is the #lastwomanstanding that has captured the attention of fans everywhere. This statement could mean anything from Arya ending up on the Iron Throne to being the last major actress on the show to Williams just being the final Stark who had scenes to film. It could also just be the actor having fun with fans.
Williams has always been careful about not dropping spoilers, so any speculation is likely just that. With the scenes and show not shot in order, my money is this just being a case of Williams being the last actress on set for filming, but we’ll all have to wait and see how it plays out.
You can see her Instagram post below:
What do you think that Maisie Williams means by her #LastWomanStanding tag? Is she the last actress filming on the series or is she the only Stark left when the final credits roll? How awesomely horrible is it that Williams gave us a hashtag like that which we can’t find out what happens until next year? Share your thoughts below!
