Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

We already knew that Nickelodeon was giving us a new look of our heroes in a half shell when ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ is released and now they’ll have a new team leader as well! While we usually see Leonardo as the leader of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in this iteration of the franchise, it will be Raphael that is pushing the group forward. Not only that, but the opening of the series might even hint that Raph has ‘Iron Fist’-like superpowers that allow him to focus his chi as a weapon. Of course, this could just be for show in the introduction to get viewers on board.

You can check out the opening of the show right here!

While the release date of the series by Mirage Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios isn’t precise, it is suspected to be in the Fall of 2018 and will likely be announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. We’ll know more at the panel for the series which is slated to be on Thursday, July 19th, 2018 between 1:45 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.

The full synopsis of the series is below:

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follows the band of brothers – Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo – as they discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City. Co-executive produced by Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, the 26-episode series will debut on Nickelodeon later this year. of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

It isn’t clear how close to the various source material options that the show will follow but usually the animated and cinematic takes on the series try to modernize themselves so I wouldn’t expect too many throwbacks.
