Boba Fett

James Mangold and producer Simon Kinberg are teaming up after their success with ‘Logan’ to give us a Boba Fett movie though we shouldn’t hold our breaths for it anytime soon. While it will probably be titled Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story,‘ this new tale of an intergalactic bounty hunter most likely won’t be filmed until at least 2020 due to Mangold’s current schedule.

Plot details are non-existent, so we don’t know if this is a prequel or sees Fett surviving the events of the original trilogy on screen. What we do know is that Lucasfilm has announced it will be shot at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. This choice of locations isn’t too surprising as it is where the studio films their movies which take place in a galaxy far far away.

A production date has yet to be set, but we do know that Mangold is looking to tackle the Matt Damon and Christian Bale movie ‘Ford vs. Ferrari’ which is set to shoot this summer. This project would make it unlikely for him to work on ‘Boba Fett’ this year. As the director will be out promoting ‘Ford vs Ferrari’ throughout 2019, you can scratch next year out to start filming too.  If this proves true, chances are we’ll be seeing more news of ‘Kenobi: A Star Wars Story’ or an untitled ‘Star Wars’ film kicking off production before ‘Boba Fett.’

Are you looking forward to checking out ‘Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story’ when it is released? Do you think that this will be a prequel film showing off his bounty hunting days or take place after the events of Return of the Jedi? Share your thoughts below!
