‘Supernatural’ has been one of The CW’s highest rated shows for many years– it’s in its thirteenth season– but the upcoming animated episode ‘Scoobynatural’ has generated more buzz than possibly any single installment in the show’s history. In the episode, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, respectively) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are sucked into a cursed TV and find themselves trapped in an episode of ‘Scooby-Doo’.
This special event was announced last May at The CW’s upfronts. Excitement has been building ever since. With the episode coming up in two weeks, promotional items are popping up, like a clip from ‘Scoobynatural’ and still photos.
With an event this big, fans are sure to want to have a keepsake to remember it by. And Hot Topic has come to the rescue. The pop culture-focused mall store already offers a wide range of ‘Supernatural’ merchandise, as well as that based on other CW shows like the various superhero programs and ‘Riverdale’. (Where else can you find a plush Dean to snuggle?) Now they are offering a variety of items based specifically on ‘Scoobynatural’.
This merchandise, which includes tee shirts and what look to be patches, buttons, and stickers, will be available in-store and online beginning on Tuesday, March 20.
Also, to celebrate the event, the ‘Scoobynatural’ episode will make its premier at the ‘Supernatural’ panel at Paleyfest this year, also on Tuesday, March 20. To celebrate Baby– a ’67 Chevy Impala– and the Mystery Machine will make a joint live appearance! The two vehicles will be parked at the Hollywood & Highland center court from 10 am to 10 pm on March 20 and Scooby himself will appear from 3pm-7pm. Those in the Los Angeles area are invited to stop by to check them out.
Tickets for Paleyfest are still available and can be purchased here. The entire event runs from March 16-26. As stated, the cast of ‘Supernatural’ will appear at a panel on March 20, while the show will also host the casts of other shows such as ‘The Big Bang Theory’/’Young Sheldon’, ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, ‘The Orville’, ‘Riverdale’, ‘Silicon Valley’ and ‘Stranger Things’ at other panels throughout the festival.
‘Scoobynatural’ premiers on Thursday, March 29, at 8 pm EST on the CW.
