With ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Luke Cage’ now cancelled, the future of ‘Jessica Jones’ remains uncertain with Netflix. What we do know is that in these new set of photos from the upcoming third season of the series will once again see Jessica (Krysten Ritter) having an issue with the New York Police Department. It is hard to tell if this is going to be an ongoing trend in the series or if this will just be another story where Jones has to deal with the police (which is just overkill at this point).
You’ll have to jump off-site to see those photos right here, but when you do, you’ll see Jessica being held at gunpoint by the police as she is taken into custody. I’m suspecting that this will be another misunderstanding, but this seems to be just a bit like retreading old ground and could backfire on keeping viewers returning if this is a focus in the upcoming season.
It should be noted that while the future of ‘Jessica Jones’ is already in question now that showrunner Melissa Rosenberg had already stated that this is her last season to helm the series. Add to that, Marvel TV doesn’t have a replacement in mind yet. It isn’t clear if they’re already prepared for a cancellation or if they just don’t want to commit to a new face while the third season is still in production.
Do you think that ‘Jessica Jones’ being looked at by the police is an overused plot point by now? Is this a scene which you hope won’t be an example of an ongoing plotline in the third season of this Netflix series? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
