There Is An Update On The "Femme Fatale" From The 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Sequel!

We had learned earlier this year that Marvel Studios was planning on introducing a “femme fatale” into Peter Parker’s life in the sequel to ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and now new details are emerging. Spider-Man has long had strong women in his world who could fit this description from Black Cat to Spider-Woman and beyond and which character they’ve had in mind has been a mystery. Specifically, it appeared that they were “on the hunt for a European actress in her 20s to play what was described to us as a ‘femme fatale'” which would have put Silver Sable at the very top of that list if she weren’t set to become a character in Sony’s cinematic Spider-Verse.

Now, a bit of an increased description has been available that certainly points that Jessica Drew is going to be the character introduced as the person they are looking to cast and is now being described as “a Bond-girl type international agent.”

In the comics, Drew is from a European country and after a stint in Hydra became an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a world-renowned superhero. Ideally, we’ll get a S.H.I.E.L.D. name drop or two while this is going on.

The actress will also have some help as Marvel Studios is also looking to cast a 40-60-year-old male and 40-49-year-old female as agents. Assuming they’re working with her instead of against her, this will have her working in a team. If she already has powers at this point, it will be interesting to see if they’re working for her or are working as handlers.

Do you think that Spider-Woman would be a great character to introduce in the follow up to ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’? What other characters do you feel could fit here? Share your thoughts below True Believers!

The sophomore ‘Spider-Man’ movie is scheduled to swing onto the big screen on July 5th, 2019!
