Fans of John Noble (‘Fringe,”Sleepy Hollow’) have been thrilled to hear him voicing Mallus this season on The CW’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow‘, and now it looks as he’ll finally be making an appearance on the show! Only, it won’t be quite what you’re hoping for. Leave it to a DC show to do the unexpected though not necessarily in a good way. While he’ll still be voicing Mallus for the run of the series, Noble will be making an appearance on the show as someone else entirely in an upcoming episode.

John Noble is going to play, drum roll please, John Noble! That’s right folks; he is going to be portraying himself in the series and not Mallus as the time demon he voices will end up being entirely CG.

According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim:

“We figured out a very Legends-like way to actually get John Noble the actor into the show. We’re very excited that John Noble will be making a live action appearance on Legends. He’s been voicing our third season’s big bad, Mallus, but he won’t be appearing as the time demon. He’ll actually be appearing as himself. It makes total sense in a Legends-y kind of way.”

One can only hope that they end up at a comic convention or movie studio to see this play out. It isn’t clear yet as to what route they’re going as the appearance is a mystery, but I’m sure it’ll be fun for his fans to check out! I’m eager to see what they mean in that this will be a “Legends-y kind of way.”

Are you happy to hear that John Noble will make a physical appearance on the show? Is it a let down that he won’t be popping up in the flesh as Mallus? Share your thoughts below!
