“A War Is Coming” in the extended trailer for the episode of DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow‘ which shows the return of Constantine. It should come as no surprise to anyone that things will be strange when the character is around, and now we’ve got a more in-depth look of what to expect when Constantine teams up with our hero’s board the Waverider. Not only do they need his help to try and discover who Mallus is, but it looks like Constantine is looking to cash in the favor Sara owes him for saving her soul.

After Sara’s (Caity Lotz) encounter with Mallus, the Legends are paid a visit by
John Constantine (guest star Matt Ryan), a demonologist detective. The Legends
agree to accompany him to a present-day psychiatric hospital and they are surprised
to discover who Constantine is trying to help. During the exorcism, Sara, Leo
(guest star Wentworth Miller) and Constantine go missing, leaving Ray (Brandon Routh)
and Zari (Tala Ashe) to try to take care of Constantine’s client. Meanwhile, Amaya
(Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano) once again come face to face with Kuasa.
Dominic Purcell also stars.

As to Sara owing Constantine, actress Caity Lotz weighed in on being able to work with Matt Ryan for the show:

“I’ve gotten to work with Matt before on Arrow, although I think I was possessed pretty much the whole time. He’s a fabulous actor; we had so much fun on set. I think Sara — he’s this really cocky guy who thinks he’s the s—t, and I think Sara kind of throws him for a loop because he thinks he’s so impressive, but then she…takes everybody down. I think they’re friends — they like each other.”

I think the interaction between everyone aboard the Waverider with Constantine is going to prove for quite a bit of amusement, but apparently, Sara’s shared screen time will be the best. Hopefully, this will be a cause for the character to continue appearing on the show!
