krypton

A drama about Superman’s family is something which might have a limited draw, but the showrunners of ‘Krypton’ could be introducing a few other DC heroes into the mix to try and liven things up. As the Man of Steel likely can’t make an appearance without some time traveling shenanigans being involved, which are already being used to include Adam Strange, there are other cosmic heroes who could be tapped for the show.

Word came out at this year’s Television Critics Association winter press tour. Executive producer David S. Goyer went so far as to tease that other heroes could be included such as Omega Man, the Green Lantern Corps, and possibly more!

“The deal with the show is it’s kind of this gateway into the DC science fiction universe. Because also the Phantom Zone figures into this show, it means we can delve into other times and planets eventually.”

Not to be left out of the action. DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns cut in saying that, “Any of these characters could eventually show up.” It sounds like with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ having beaten WB to the cosmic side of their comics on the big screen, the studio is going to try and one up Marvel’s only space-faring show ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ as we all know that Coulson’s team likely won’t be on a space station in the future forever.

Goyer went on to help cement this idea by stating “Even the inclusion of Adam Strange, that should tip you off that it’s not just going to be on Krypton.” As they plan on having the show “[skew] a bit closer to canon,” it sounds like, above all else, this could be the show for DC fans to really get into. Without any of the major heroes making an appearance that is still up to debate but the more we’re hearing from the cast and crew, the more this idea actually sounds appealing.

Are you looking forward to Syfy‘s take on ‘Krypton’? Is this inclusion of other cosmic heroes something that you’re excited for or will it take away from the focus of the series? Which character do you hope could make their way to the small screen? Share your thoughts below!
