black panther

With less than 50 days until the release of ‘Black Panther’, Marvel Studios has released a new TV spot for its latest superhero action flick.  There’s not much new footage.  We do see Angela Basset‘s Queen Ramonda telling her son T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) “It’s your time” plus more glimpses of Black Panther fighting Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who appears to be the film’s Big Bad, although the movie also features Winston Duke as M’Baku (the villain in the comics known as Man-Ape) and Andy Serkis as Ullyses Klaue (also known as Klaw).

The quality of the new clip isn’t high-def, but if you’re excited about this upcoming film, check out the new clip:

While the events of ‘Black Panther’ do showcase the whole new world of the mystic land of Wakanda, they also build upon the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe (Wakanda is the source of the indestructible metal Vibranium, which is what is Captain America’s shield is made of) and also sets up ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, the trailer for which features extended glimpses of Wakanda.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father,
the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African
nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful
old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he
is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world
at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and
release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his
people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, with a screenplay by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, ‘Black Panther’ stars Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Forest Whitaker and Letitia Wright. The film hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
