black panther

Japan has received an amazing new ‘Black Panther’ trailer that contains loads of new footage!  While some of it has been seen before, there are protracted looks at the wonderful land of Wakanda, which resembles real-life futuristic locales like Tokyo and Dubai.

One of the new shots reveals the mines beneath this mystic land, the only source on Earth of Vibranium, the indestructible metal that was forged to make King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman)’s armor and Captain America’s shield.  Now that the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer has arrived, showing several scenes in Wakanda, fans are speculating that it is the Soul Infinity Stone that has created Vibranium, thus making Black Panther’s kingdom one of Thanos’ targets.

The other new footage showcases one of the film’s villains, Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan).  Killmonger demands an audience with T’Challa before later demanding the throne itself.  Though previously seen, there is also some footage of Killmonger donning his Golden Jaguar armor and the two rivals battling.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
