Andy Serkis, who will portray the devious weapons dealer Ulysses Klaue in 2018’s ‘Black Panther,’ gave a recent interview where he spoke about the “personal vendetta” against T’Challa and how that vendetta will drive his agenda in the upcoming Marvel movie.
Serkis, who first introduced the character in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (where he lost his hand to the menacing robot), said Klaue is “furious about what’s happened [in Black Panther]. So it is personal with T’Challa.”
Klaue’s vendetta extends well beyond the actions in the film. He also turns his eye to T’Challa’s nation of Wakanda as well, an African country shrouded in mystery which keeps its technological advancements secret from the rest of the world. Outsiders see Wakanda as a third-world nation, but in reality, it is wealthier and more advanced than any Western nation.
Serkis had this to say about the depths of his vendetta:
“He also wants to expose what he thinks is the hypocrisy of Wakanda. That’s really what drives him. As well as his addiction to vibranium.”
‘Black Panther’ stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, with Forest Whitaker, and of course, Andy Serkis. Check out the official synopsis, and the trailer below!
