Crisis On Earth-X

SPOILER ALERT! These images from ‘Crisis On Earth-X’ Part 3 may be considered SPOILERS so proceed with caution.

This year’s Arrowverse crossover takes place on Earth-X.  In DC Comics, Earth-X is a world where the Nazis won World War II and that appears to be the case here.  Things ramp up and get personal in Part 3 of the crossover, which plays out on ‘The Flash’ on the second night of this four-hour event.

If you dare, check out the images below (All photos courtesy Bettina Strauss/The CW):

Here we get a glimpse of Russell Tovey‘s Ray Terrill/The Ray out of costume, but in a frightening alternative– a pair of striped pajamas, the same kind that Jewish concentration camp prisoners wore in Nazi Germany.  This indicates that Ray is likely a Jew and a prisoner of the ruling Nazis on Earth-X.

He and Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller), this world’s version of Leonard Snart, appear to be filling in the visiting heroes about this dark reality.

Tovey’s pajamas feature an inverted pink triangle.  In more modern times, the pink triangle is a symbol of gay pride, but it originated as a way of distinguishing homosexuals in concentration camps.  Ray Terrill is gay in modern DC Comics.

Wentworth Miller is departing the Arrowverse this season.  It’s possible that his turn as Citizen Cold is his swansong.

The same may be true of Victor Garber, whose Martin Stein is also leaving ‘Legends of Tomorrow’.  On the show, Stein is leaving to tend to his expectant daughter.  In reality, Garber is leaving to return to the Broadway Stage, where he made a name for himself.

Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) also appears to have a role in this storyline.  Is this our Winn or Earth-X’s?

Though he normally wears regular sunglasses, here you can see Snart with a visor around his neck that looks more like the distinctive eyewear his comic book counterpart sports.

With intel from Terrill and Snart, it looks as though Ollie is organizing a strike against their enemies.

Things get personal, as evil Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) a.k.a. Dark Flash has Iris (Candice Patton) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) kidnapped.

Wells tries a familiar kill shot with Felicity.

Another glimpse at Overgirl, the dark version of Supergirl played by Melissa Benoist.

Reinforcements arrive in the form of Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), Oliver (Stephen Amell), White Canary (Caity Lotz) and Citizen Cold.

A slightly clearer shot of Cold in his comic-style visor.

A closeup of Amell in his dual role as the Dark Arrow of Earth-X.

‘Crisis On Earth-X’ kicks off on Monday night, November 27 on The CW, with ‘Supergirl’ at 8pm EST, followed by ‘Arrow’ on a special night.  The crossover event concludes with ‘The Flash’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ on Tuesday night, November 28.
