crisis on earth x

With Thanksgiving in two weeks (in the U.S. anyway), the holiday season is about to kick off in full swing.  During this time, many find themselves too busy to keep up with their favorite shows.  This works out conveniently for all, as most series go on a winter hiatus.  This allows fans to take care of their other obligations without missing out and it gives the casts and crews of these shows to take a breather before returning with new episodes in the New Year.

This year, to wrap up the fall season, The CW’s hits ‘Supergirl’, ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will be merging all four shows into a four-hour crossover event spread over the course of two nights.  This story is entitled ‘Crisis on Earth X’ and promises to be full of surprises and thrills.  One can only hope they can surpass the all-star fun of last year’s ‘Invasion!’ event!

If you’re curious what to expect, here is the synopsis for all four hours over ‘Crisis on Earth-X’:

SUPERGIRL
“Crisis on Earth X, Part 1” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

THE EPIC FOUR-WAY CROSSOVER WITH “ARROW,” “SUPERGIRL,” “THE FLASH” AND “DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW” BEGINS — Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes – Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and White Canary (Caity Lotz) – lead their teams into battle to save the world.

Larry Teng directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Robert Rovner & Jessica Queller.

The synopses are identical for the other three shows, but here is the unique information:

The 4-Part Crossover Event begins Monday, November 27 with Supergirl, “Crisis on Earth X, Part 1” (8:00-9:00pm ET). Arrow, “Crisis on Earth X, Part 2,” will air Monday, November 27 (9:00-10:00pmET). The Flash, “Crisis on Earth X, Part 3,” will air Tuesday, November 28 (8:00-9:00pm ET). DC’S Legends of Tomorrow, “Crisis on Earth X, Part 4,” will air Tuesday, November 28 (9:00-10:00pm ET).

Note that ‘Arrow’ will air on a special night, Monday after ‘Supergirl’.

Beyond this, we know that Earth X is a parallel universe where the Nazis won World War II and now rule the entire planet.  They are opposed by The Freedom Fighters, a super team that includes The Ray (Tovey), Phantom Lady, Black Condor, Dollman and Red Tornado.  These characters can be seen on ‘The Ray’ animated series on The CW Seed, but it is believed that only The Ray will appear in the flesh during this crossover.

Are you ready to see the Arrowverse go out with a bang… at least until next year?
