Gillian Anderson plays the God Media in ‘American Gods,’ and her next featured look is going to be David Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust. We were initially introduced to her in the second episode as Lucille Bal, and it looks like she’ll be having a fun little conversation with Technical Boy. It is quite clear that while the two are on the same side against Mr. Wednesday that they aren’t on the best of terms.

For those who still can’t figure Media out, here’s how Starz describes her:

Gillian Anderson stars as the New God Media in the critically acclaimed series ‘American Gods.’ Media assumes whatever form will deliver her message most effectively and is often personified by iconic celebrities.

I love that we’ve seen Technical Boy making the threats so far to Shadow while Media has been offering more carnal pleasures but when it comes to working together, she is the one who isn’t to be taken lightly. We haven’t quite been introduced to Mr. World as of yet though I suspect he will have a much more prominent role in the show than in the book.

Synopsis:

When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
