With ‘Alien: Covenant‘ inching towards release we’ve seen director Ridley Scott sharing more details and bonus content! Today’s videos are some final messages that Daniels and Oram sent home prior to the Covenant departing for their new home as well as Scott talking about being open to digitally de-aging Ripley for future films. Yes, we’ve all seen the love and hate relationship of how that came up with ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and it will be interesting to see how fans react the news of de-aging this time around. However, if another franchise uses it this could signal an acceptance by Hollywood to continue doing this moving forward and a bit of a cheat to extend the life of characters from actors who have aged between films.

First up we have the message from Daniels sending back:

Secondly, we have a highly scripted message from Oram:

Now onto Ripley, Scott didn’t outright say that there was a plan in place to digitally de-age Sigourney Weaver to play the character again at this time. However, he did seem to say that the option was on the table. This doesn’t mean it will or won’t happen but Scott is obviously open to it. If fan reactions from other films doing this are any indication aren’t going to be supportive of this with the technology being where it currently is. The special effects are close to pulling it off but still, need just a bit more work to really sell the idea.

Which crew member do you feel delivered a better message? Would you be willing to see Weaver de-aged digitally to replay Ripley? Share your thoughts below!
