When you literally own the rights to an entire license like the DC Universe and have unlimited access to every facet of its existence, you’re going to come up with some crazy cool toys. Luckily the team at DC Collectibles (which, while pretty self-explanatory, is the collectibles division of DC Entertainment) realizes this and continues to create some of the best collectibles on the market for the DC Comics license. This week at New York Toy Fair 2017, DC Collectibles is debuting a number of fantastic looking new collectibles from some of our favorite lines like ‘DC Bombshells’, ‘Batman Black & White’, and ‘Batman: The Animated Series’!
DC Collectibles Vice President Kevin Kiniry seems to think highly of the line, saying “Our new Justice League statue line was produced with unmatched craftsmanship and precise attention to detail and I think fans of these characters are going to be thrilled with the result”.
If you’re less into the new live-action based collectibles, maybe the DC Bombshells Collection is more for you? New heroines joining the 6.75″ action figure line include Batgirl, Hawkgirl, Supergirl, Mera, Bumblebee, and Katana! If the Designer Series ‘DC Bombshells’ action figures aren’t doing it for you, then perhaps the new ‘Bombshells’ statues of Starfire (first ever DC Bombshells Starfire!) and Harley Quinn will tickle your fancy!
Perhaps you’re more of a ‘classics’ kind of collector? The ‘DC Icons’ line is expanding once again to feature figures based on storylines both new and old! From the new ‘DC Rebirth’ series, we’re getting a ‘Super Sons’ figure 2-pack featuring Superboy and Robin, plus an all new Supergirl figure from her current solo series! We’re also getting figures from fan favorite classic stories like Nightwing from ‘HUSH’ and a 2-pack of Superman and Doomsday from the legendary ‘Death Of Superman’ storyline!
The real gold of their reveals so far has got to be their gigantic new announcement of a 15.5″x17″x21″ Batcave Vignette playset from their 6″ scale ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ line! This is probably the coolest thing that DC Collectibles has ever announced for fans of ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ (besides the Batwing last year, or the Batmobile the year before that, or the line existing at all two decades after this iconic series ended). It’s going to feature lots of detail so you can change up your figure display to look like your favorite episodes of the hit series! The BatComputer is going to sport special LED light-up screens that will feature interchangeable graphics for the screens. To slap some extra icing on the cake, this set is going to include an exclusive Alfred figure that you won’t be able to get anywhere else!
Sounding just as excited as the fans they’ve made it for, DC Collectibles Executive Director Jim Fletcher said “The Batcave Vignette is a great example of how we’re constantly looking for new ways to capture the most iconic and authentic moments from the DC Universe and reimagine them in three-dimensional form! Now Batman: The Animated Series action figure collectors have an entirely new way to display and enhance their collections.”
Of course there are a few other awesome looking new pieces we can look forward to as well, like a new functional Bat-Signal replica, Harley and Joker bookends, and of course new ‘Batman: Black & White’ statues! Here is the full rundown of new pieces announced so far from DC Collectibles:
