stranger things season 2

As ‘The Walking Dead’ has kicked off the second half of its seventh season one can’t help but wonder how long freshmen horror upstart ‘Stranger Things‘ will run for? According to the Duffer Brothers, you shouldn’t expect the series to run forever. In fact, it probably won’t even run for more than a few years and with the reasons that the creative duo in charge of the show give it makes sense.

During a recent interview about the series, Ross and Matt Duffer were asked just how long we might get the to see Eleven and her friends and they seem to believe it will only be four or five seasons long, max.

Why put an endcap on a great series? That is an easy answer on their part. According to Matt Duffer:

“I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”

It makes sense. The series isn’t presented as seasons but as stand-alone stories that are a season long. We’ll be getting 4-5 very long films instead of an ongoing set of seasons and if they can deliver that many solid stories without hitting burnout with plots, cast, and crew then I will consider that a win.

While I don’t look forward to the show coming to an end, I’m glad they are planning it out and not just running until the show and fans are out of steam.
