In August, Ross Duffer, co-creator of ‘Stranger Things’ (along with brother Matt) dropped a bomb regarding next year’s Season Two, when he said, “We don’t know about Eleven [coming back].  We leave that up in the air.”

Fans were further concerned when, just days later, a casting sheet described a new character as:

“Max is a tough and confident 13-year-old female whose appearance, behavior and pursuits are more typical of boys than of girls in the era. She has a complicated history and has a difficult relationship with her step-brother Billy that’s made her protective of her past and generally suspicious of those around her. She’s also good on a skateboard, which she uses to get around pretty much everywhere.”

A mysterious new girl, suspicious of those around her?  Could Max– who will be played by Sadie Sink– be a replacement for Eleven?!  Can you even replace Eleven?!

Netflix declined to comment, but sources are saying that Millie Bobby Brown is indeed returning as Eleven for ‘Stranger Things’ S2.  It is unclear how many episodes in which she will appear, but it is believed that she will once again be a series regular.

Not much is known about S2, not even how many episodes will comprise it.  As far as story is concerned, the portal to The Upside Down remains open and that S1 only scratched the surface of what might lie within it.

Matthew Modine is obviously out of S2, but Millie Bobby Brown rejoins Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Chief Jim Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers) and Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), plus Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) who have both been bumped up to series regular status.

In addition to Sadie Sink as Max, the cast will also be joined by Dacre Montgomery as her older brother Billy.

Are you glad to hear that Eleven will be back?  (D’uh, of course you are!  Now go stock up on Eggos!)
