All of the Universal Monster movies are going to be part of a group writing project and while the first draft of the script for ‘The Wolfman‘ was tackled by Aaron Guzikowski (‘Prisoners’), the studio has just tapped Dave Callaham (‘The Expendables’) to rewrite the script. While Alex Kurtzman (‘Transformers’) and Chris Morgan (‘Fast & Furious’) are overseeing the multi-movie project, it looks like all eyes and fur will be on Callaham for the film moving forward.

Rumors had put Dwayne Johnson at the top of Universal Pictures wishlist for actors and with how many big names are already attached to the other films being produced that wouldn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. However, a wishlist isn’t casting as we haven’t heard anything from the studio or actor confirming that any headway was made on a contract being ironed out.

We know that ‘The Mummy‘ will be the first film in this newly interconnected world, unless you coung 2014’s ‘Dracula Untold’ which bringing Luke Evans back to the role feels right, though haven’t learned much about ‘The Wolfman’ as of yet. Tom Cruise, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, Courtney B. Vance, Sofia Boutella, and Russell Crowe are all set to star in the first film though it is unclear if any of them will carry on into ‘The Wolfman’ to tie the franchises together.

We’ll see ‘The Wolfman’ howling onto the big screen on March 30th 2018.
