Fans of the Resident Evil cinematic franchise are going to be thrilled that out of the depths of New York Comic-Con 2016 has emerged the latest trailer and poster for ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter‘! This is the last addition to the franchise that Sony has been growing over the years and the look and tone make it seem like it could be the best to date before the eventual reboot that almost seems guaranteed to happen. Paul W.S. Anderson is at the top of his game when directing his wife Milla Jovovich with the rest of the cast which includes Iain Glen, Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Lee Joon-gi, Rola, William Levy, and Ruby Rose.

From action to the burned out husk of Washington DC, to a narrative from Alice, to so much more – they give us a better feel of the story for this installment. There is no word on how saving the day could save humanity with how few of the living surely are left at this point though I suspect we’ll be getting a happy ending and really hope it doesn’t end with some kind of this has all been a simulation or dream story arc. At least, I would hope that Anderson wouldn’t finish off the story with lazy writing.

It just seems hard to see how this can play out with a happy ending with most of the world decimated at this point.

Oh, we’ve also got the latest poster here to enjoy.

Are you looking forward to checking out Alice one last time in ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’? Do you think the film looks like it is going to be a thrill ride from start to finish? Share your thoughts below!

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington, D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time, Alice will join forces with old friends and an unlikely ally in an action-packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ is set to infect theaters on January 27th, 2017.
