sansa-stark sophie turner

Winter is coming and knowing how George R.R. Martin has a fetish for killing off all his characters it should come as no surprise when Sophie Turner (‘X-Men: Apocalypse’,’Barely Lethal’) confirms that not all of the actors will make it into the final season of ‘Game of Thrones‘. After the show swept the Emmy Awards once again, Turner sat down for an interview and of course it turned to the upcoming season. She says that with the end in sight the actors are all gearing up for the show to be over.

“It’s quite sad. It really feels like things are wrapping up and coming to an end. People are hanging around Belfast a bit longer to be around each other and be in each other’s presence.”

With another year of filming to go there is still time here but with the kind of friendships that many have developed over the course of this series it should come as no surprise that the actors want to spend a little more time together. While the upcoming 2 seasons are both shorter than previous ones there are still 2 for the cast to enjoy working through, right? Well…

“We’ve got one more season…well, not all of us.”

We’ve all seen what happens at weddings alone in ‘Game of Thrones’ and with all out war brewing on every front it shouldn’t come as a surprise to any if we end up seeing a few more of the major characters get killed off in the upcoming season. Westeros has not been known to be kind to its inhabitants.

Likely Sophie is specifically talking about the North though with how things left up where Jon Snow was crowned the new King of the North and Petyr Belish had whispered to Sansa Stark‘s desire to rule that could set the two at odds.

“You don’t really know what’s going on with her this season. We’re trying to figure out where her loyalties lie and you’re wondering if she is going to pull through and be a true Stark or not.”

While I think we can all hope that she is going to turn on Belish and was truly just using his army for her own gain, it is hard to tell with how they’ve developed Sansa over the years.
