Despite the awful reviews, it has not been such a terrible year for the DCEU, as even ‘Suicide Squad‘ recently hit the $700 million mark, making the early films of the DCEU still a moderate enough success to warrant Warner Bros continuing to branch out their own brand of superhero films. Of course, not every part of this year’s ‘Batman V Superman’ or ‘Suicide Squad’ was terrible, especially the breakout performances by Ben Affleck as Batman and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. And while we already know that Affleck has used that success to get an executive producer role on ‘Justice League’ and directing role on the solo ‘The Batman’ film, it seems he is not the only one reaping some benefits. It was just announced that Harley Quinn will be getting a spin-off film from ‘Suicide Squad,’ and Warner Bros (eager to please the crowd-favorite actress), has given Margot Robbie the executive producer role on the film (not to mention having her star in the Tonya Harding biopic ‘I, Tonya’).

There are many rumors swirling about the Harley Quinn ‘Suicide Squad’ spin-off and what it will be about, with some saying it will delve more into the insane love story between Harley and the Joker, while others report that it will include many other villains and heroes from DC Comics including the likes of Batgirl and potentially the Birds of Prey, all of which would mean they are going in the direction of more of a “girl-power” movie, which might be a fun direction to take for a superhero franchise.

What are your thoughts on what the Harley Quinn movie should be about? Do you think DC can turn their films around and deliver something even close in quality to what Marvel/Disney are churning out? Share your opinions on the matter in the comments below!
