Come one, come all, and feast your eyes upon an all new Toy News Tuesday! We’re the one weekly column right here on ScienceFiction.com where we seek out all of the awesome news you need to know about any announcements and cool happenings in the toy industry and put them all in one easy to find place for you! This week we have lots of cool new stuff in store for you, and we can’t wait to tell you about it! We get our first ‘Doctor Strange’ movie toys, a ton of new San Diego Comic Con exclusive reveals, and way more amazing stuff than we can shake a stick at! What are you waiting for? More Marvelous Marvel Minimates
Our good friends at Diamond Select Toys have two new waves of new Marvel Minimates coming out way, and wow do they look amazing! The first wave is Marvel Minimates Series 70, which is based on the upcoming live action ‘Doctor Strange’ movie! This set includes several Minimate 2-packs like Dr. Strange with The Ancient One, Mordo with Kaecilius, and two specialty store exclusive sets that like Stephen Strange with Christine Palmer, and Wong with Zealot! Because this wave has sets that are specialty store exclusive, it’s probably a safe bet we can expect to see some Toys R Us Exclusive sets announced soon as well!
Additionally, DST has revealed plans for an all new set of Marvel Minimates Blindbags based on the modern Marvel Universe with a ‘Marvel Now!’ Blindbag series! This new wave of blindbags include a ton of fan favorite characters from the current era of Marvel Comics including Space Knight Venom, Ultimate Spiderman (Miles Morales), Spider Gwen, Wolverine II, Invincible Iron Man, Old Man Logan, Deadpool 2099, and a rare chase figure of Silk!
“Family? You Call That Family?”
If there’s one character from the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ franchise that people can’t seem to get enough of, it’s Casey Jones. Being always seem to be jonesing for more Jones merchandise, and this week the team at DreamEX have granted at least a few collectors wishes with the reveal of their all new 1:6th scale Casey Jones figure! This figure is based on Jones classic appearance in the comics and includes Casey’s signature golfbag full of sports equipment that double as weaponry for his vigilante activities. Sadly, not much info is yet available for this upcoming figure, but we should expect to see him hitting the market before years end!
“It’s True… All Of It”
Last winter, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ hit it big at the box office, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see Hot Toy’s amazing line of 1:6th scale ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ figures continuing with even more figures! This week Hot Toys announced plans for a special new 1:6th scale figure collectors set of Han Solo and Chewbacca! This new set includes all new figures of Han and Chewie based on their appearance in the recent film, as well as a ton of character specific accessories to help bring them to life in your collection! Han even includes both his regular and winter jackets as seen in the film! Check out the full release from Hot Toys below-

The latest entry to the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, have broken numerous box-office records around the world! The return of the original cast have been one of the biggest highlights of the epic blockbuster and today, Hot Toys is very excited to introduce a special collectible set featuring the new 1/6th scale collectible figures of Han Solo and Chewbacca from Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
The highly-accurate Han Solo collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Harrison Ford as Han Solo in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring a newly developed head sculpt and hands, specially tailored outfit and winter gear, all-new blaster pistol, and a specially designed figure stand.
The highly-accurate Chewbacca collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the Wookie warrior in Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring a new face sculpt with articulated jaw, newly developed multiple layers of fabric hair with various shades of brown throughout whole body capturing Chewbacca’s unique appearance, all-new bowcaster and bandolier bag, and a specially designed figure stand.
This collectible set will additionally include 3 thermal detonators, a remote detonator, and 2 Starkiller Base-themed bases attachable to Han Solo and Chewbacca’s hexagonal figure stands as bonus accessories.

Titan Merchandise Reveals SDCC Plans
The team over at PopVinyls has got the inside scoop on Titan Merchandise’s plans for San Diego Comic Con exclusive vinyls this year, and wow do these look great! We’ve got exclusive new Titan vinyls coming our way from some of Titan’s top licensed brands, including ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Doctor Who’, and more! Here’s the full rundown…
From ‘Star Trek’, fans can look forward to an awesome looking mini replica of The Enterprise ship, plus a sweet figure two-pack of Kirk and Spock from the episode featuring their infamous battle!
From ‘Ghostbusters’ we’ve got a fantastic new translucent green Slimer figure with his mouth chock full of hot dogs! If that isn’t really your thing, maybe you’re into Cartoon Network’s ‘Adventure Time’? If so, you can probably appreciate the awesome new super-sized Finn vinyl figure that stands a whopping 4.5 inches tall (while other vinyls in this line stand 3″)!
Finally, from ‘Doctor Who’, we’ve got a special new ‘Ghost Doctor’ as well as a translucent glitter Tardis!
These Titan Merchandise figures are set to be sold exclusively at San Diego Comic Con 2016! Be sure not to miss out!
Time For A Bug Hunt
These guys won’t be out for a little while yet, but we are finally getting a closer look at some of the highly anticipated figures we have heading our way in the new ‘ALIENS’ Series 9 from NECA! This latest run is going to be comprised of Vasquez, Frost, and a Prototype Alien figure. This week NECA released new up close and personal images of Vasquez and Frost and wow do they look great! Check them out below-

Hasbro Goes Old School For SDCC
After months of rumors, in a surprise move today Hasbro released images of new products coming our way in both the ‘Micronauts’ and ‘Visionaries’ toylines! Granted, the new products are all San Diego Comic Con Exclusive, but still! Both lines, which have been dead since around the late 80’s, have been rumored to be getting reboots for a few years now, but this is the first real sign we’ve seen of either of them making a comeback!
For the ‘Micronauts’ line, collectors can expect a new SDCC 2016 Exclusive Micronauts Classic Collection set which includes three figures; Galactic Warrior, Pharoid, and Orbital Defender. These are based on the classic figure designs from the 80’s and are even look to be in scale with the original figures!
For ‘Visionaries’, we aren’t quite getting the same loving treatment. Rather than a full on updated rerelease of a classic ‘Visionaries’ character, this year at SDCC we’re getting a ‘Visionaries: Knights Of The Magical Light’ Leoric Mighty Mugg figure. Yes, you did read that correctly; Mighty Muggs are somehow still a thing that Hasbro is trying to make happen. Rumors are running rampant that the revitalized ‘Visionaries’ line wasn’t quite ready for SDCC yet, so we’re getting this Leoric Mighty Mugg figure instead. We suppose this will have to do for now, and hopefully we will be getting some actual new ‘Visionaries’ figures soon!
Price points are currently still not available for either of these fantastic new collectibles from Hasbro. Both of these are set to be San Diego Comic Con Exclusive, but any remaining units will be available on HasbroToyShop.com after the convention.

Still Hooked On ‘Guardians’
For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ fans, there really is no such thing as too many POP! Vinyls! Thankfully the hunger for more is being met by Australian store Popcultcha, who has an all new exclusive ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Starlord with Mixed Tape POP! Vinyl figure up for order now! This figure is set to be exclusive to this retailer, so don’t wait too long to order him!
You Remind Me Of The POP!
Earlier this summer we were informed that we were finally getting POP! Vinyls based on the Jim Henson classic ‘The Dark Crystal’, and almost immediately there was an outcry for POP!s based on Jim Henson’s other dark masterpiece, ‘The Labrynth’. Well today that cry was answered, as Funko announced plans for a wave of POP! Vinyls based on the hit film that includes The Goblin King Jarreth, Sarah (with Worm!), Hoggle, and a 6″ Super Sized POP! of Ludo! These should be hitting stores just as summer comes to a close.
More Teen Titans Are Joining The JLA
A few weeks back we found out Funko was releasing POP! Vinyls based on some of our favorite Teen Titans team members dressing up as members of the Justice League, and now according to PopVinyls we’re getting two more! We already knew about Robin (Batman), Starfire (The Flash), and Raven (Wonder Woman), but now we can look forward to Beast Boy (Martian Manhunter) and Cyborg (Green Lantern) as well! These are due out later this summer.
“DUCK DODGERS, OF THE TWENTY-FIRST-AND-A-HALF-CENTURY!”
Well, this one is pretty self explanitory, but check out these new POP! Vinyls Funko is releasing based on the classic ‘Looney Toons’ spinoff, ‘Duck Dodgers’! This wave features Duck Dodgers, Space Cadet, Marvin The Martian, and K-9! There are also shiny chase variants of Duck Dodgers and Space Cadet to look for, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these when they hit stores in August.
