James Carpinello

With Dr. Hugo Strange’s patients from Arkham Asylum running amok throughout the city, those involved in organized crime took a backseat during the second season of ‘Gotham’. Although when the third season rolls around this fall, the mob will come back into James Gordon’s life once again, except this time they will impact his social life rather than his work life.

According to TV Line, James Carpinello of ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Person of Interest’ will join the cast of ‘Gotham’ as Mario Falcone, the son of feared mob boss Carmine Falcone. But unlike his father and his cohorts, Mario has rejected a life of crime in favor of a career as “a well-respected, Ivy League-educated ER doctor”. This black sheep of the Falcone family is also described as “ kind, honest, and trustworthy”, so it’s no surprise that the good doctor might catch the eye of a lady or two when he arrived in Gotham City. However, unfortunately for Detective Gordon, one of those ladies appears to be the love of his life, Dr. Lee Thompkins. As if he didn’t have enough to worry about with the villains on the rise, now he has to contend with a love triangle as well.

Carpinello joins Jamie Chung and Maggie Geha on the growing list of new stars for ‘Gotham’ season three. While Chung is lined up to play journalist Valerie Vale, Geha will play an older Ivy Pepper AKA Poison Ivy. Sources say that the production won’t stop there though as casting is underway for The Mad Hatter.
