It looks like it isn’t all criminals and villains being added in the upcoming season of Fox’s ‘Gotham‘ as an early casting announcement is calling for someone who can play a character that sounds quite a bit like a young Vicki Vale. For those unfamiliar with the character, she is most well known in the cinematic world from the 1989 release of ‘Batman’ by Tim Burton where she was Bruce Wayne’s love interest. In the comics, she is a long-standing cast member who is both a reporter and love interest for Wayne.
As Wayne is still a bit young on the show, it is doubtful that she’ll be setup for any kind of a love interest but I wouldn’t put it past them to drop some seeds for interest in a far flung future that we’ll likely never see.
TV Line describes the role as follows:”There’s also the recurring role of an ambitious young journalist named “Valerie” — which we’d like to think is casting-call code for Vicki Vale, though her late-20s age range makes her markedly older than Master Bruce.”
It wouldn’t be a season of ‘Gotham’ without adding new villains and this time around there are two early casting tidbits. The first of which is about someone who “learns people’s secrets and manipulates them to do his bidding”. While the second will be a younger woman “who uses her sexuality to entrap men.”
Off the top of my head, I’m not sure on either of the villains.
