independence-day-resurgence

With ‘Independence Day: Resurgence‘ coming at the end of the month, 20th Century Fox just made the right call by announcing that the premiere on Thursday, June 23rd would be released as a double feature with the original ‘Independence Day’ opening up for it. The timing on this has the original set to premiere at 5 pm which will lead into an 8 pm 3D showing of the new film. The best part? The double movie billing will have the price tag of a single ticket!

The one downside here is of course for those who dislike or can’t watch movies in 3D as that is the only option for this double billing. No 2D showings of ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ in this format. Personally, I’m pretty thrilled to hear about this and would love to see it become a model for future movie releases. Yes, we’ve all seen that marathons exist though usually at quite a markup and having two films at the price of one with how much it already costs to go to a theater these days is something I love hearing about.

Do you plan on catching this double billing of the original ‘Independence Day’ along with ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’? Does the 3D only aspect of the new film for this double feature bother you? Share your thoughts below!
