Jason-Momoa-Aquaman

Aquaman is the king of the seas and as such is tasked with protecting 70% of the world.  Jason Momoa plays Aquaman in the current DC Expanded Universe, having debuted in a small cameo in ‘Batman V Superman’ and is currently shooting ‘Justice League – Part One’.  And of course Momoa will headline a ‘Aquaman’ solo movie due in 2018.

And he’s taking his role seriously, getting involved with an environmental cause dedicated to saving– what else?– water.  The movement, Rezpect Our Water which is currently fighting to stop an oil pipeline from crossing The Missouri River near Fort Yates, North Dakota, near the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Reservation.

This is what Momoa said about supporting the cause:

“I support the #NativeYouth of #StandingRockRez. I signed the petition to stop the #DakotaAccess Pipeline, your turn click on the link in my bio. Please take a second to check out what’s happening. Mahalo EZRA @panterasarah and shai. For spreading the awareness ALOHA j.”

He also posted this photo on Instagram, showing how fans could learn more about the cause and get involved.  But as a treat Momoa posed fully made up as Aquaman, complete with intricate tattoos.
