While most comic book fans’ eyes are on ‘Captain America: Civil War’ this month, let’s not forget that Marvel Studios is set to roll out one more movie later this year, introducing yet another character from the comics’ roster, ‘Doctor Strange’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.  The film, directed by Scott Derrickson, is currently shooting for a November release date and Cumberbatch and costar Chiwetel Ejiofor who is playing Baron Mordo were recently spotted in the streets of London (standing in for New York City) in full costume.

“Doctor Strange” follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

“Doctor Strange” is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3’s goal—over the course of four years and nine films—is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.

Rumor has it, Doctor Strange’s Eye of Agomotto will be yet another Marvel artifact that somehow connects to the greater quest for the Infinity Stones, a story that will likely come to a head in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

Are you excited to see the Sorcerer Supreme materialize in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

‘Doctor Strange’ is currently filming and is slated to appear in theaters on November 4, 2016.  The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the title hero, with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Michael Stühlbarg as Nicodemus West, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen as  major mystery villain, who it seems will NOT be Dormammu.
