Gary Tunnicliffe’s ‘Hellraiser: Judgement’ is moving pretty steadily forward and with this film, we have some new details and cast information to share with you! While some were hoping that Doug Bradley would return to reprise his role as Pinhead once again, it should come as no surprise after he had bowed out from 2011 release of ‘Hellraiser: Revelations’ that he won’t be returning. So who will be the new face of the most known Cenobite in the upcoming film? That duty is going straight to Paul T. Taylor (‘Sin City’,’Super’) who is not at all known for his genre work but is a classically trained stage and film actor who might be just what the franchise needs for a fresh start. This appears to be the direction of what we had originally heard was for a ‘Hellraiser’ Reboot.
Pinhead isn’t the only Cenobite that we’ll be seeing as John Gulagher who is the director of both ‘Feast’ and ‘Piranha 3DD’ will be playing The Assessor, Diane Goldner (Halloween 2′,’Feast II: Sloppy Seconds) will be playing The Cleaner, and finally Mike J. Regan (‘Feast III: The Happy Finish’,’Mimic 2′) will be the one familiar face as he returns to reprise his role as The Chatterer.
On the human front we’ll also see Damon Carney (‘The Veil’,’The Hitcher’) as Detective Sean Carter, Randy Wayne (‘To Save a Life’) as Detective David Carter, Alexandra Harris (‘In the Shadows’,’The Veil’) as Detective Christine Egerton, Jeff Fenter (‘The Box’,’Zero Charisma’) as Karl Watkins, Helena Grace Donald (‘Portrait of An Art Thief’) as Jophiel, Grace Montie (‘Southern Tale’) as Crystal Lanning, and Heather Langenkamp as a “chain-smoking ‘Landlady’ who snorts obscenities to the police.”
Aside from who will be starring in the film, we’ve also received the film’s synopsis:
Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world. Could the Judgment awaiting the killer’s victims also be waiting for Sean?
Now we’ll have to wait to see if this serial killer is trying to connect with the Cenobites or is one who has decided to go on a killing spree on Earth. Fans of Clive Barker‘s creations will be weary going in as the last few installments to the ‘Hellraiser’ series have been lackluster at best but there is always hope that with fresh blood we can get a horrifying tale once again.
Are you looking forward to ‘Hellraiser: Judgement’ or has is this one puzzle that doesn’t need to be solved again?
