Luke Cage Mike Colter Davd Tennant Kilgrave

Marvel Television and Netflix have proven that their partnership is a fruitful one rather than a fluke. After an awesome showing with the first season of ‘Daredevil’, the studios followed up with the amazing ‘Jessica Jones’, which brought this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a whole new level. But on top of ‘Iron Fist’, a possible spinoff for The Punisher, and the team-up event series ‘The Defenders’ coming up, there’s still a lot more in store for the MCU as a second season of Krysten Ritter’s PTSD-suffering badass PI has been ordered and her indestructible love interest Luke Cage is going on to star in his own show. So with all that on the horizon, what can we expect from ‘Luke Cage’ and ‘Jessica Jones’ Season Two? There were a few tidbits that came out of the Television Critics Association events recently that gave us a clue.

In the past, ‘Luke Cage’ star Mike Colter was asked about his costume in his solo series supposedly set to premiere later this year. While he didn’t say that we would be seeing the hero’s iconic attire including a yellow shirt, purple pants, and a tiara, if that outfit were to pop up, then this show is where we’d see it. Well, despite sounding skeptical that it would actually happen before, Colter’s comments to ComicBook.com make it sound like we’re all in for a treat. Sweet Christmas indeed!

“You know when you see something and you know they’re going to do it and you cant believe its real? I’ll leave it at that.”

On a more serious note, with more ‘Jessica Jones’ in the pipeline, many are wondering whether the magnificent David Tennant would be brought back to the show despite his character Kilgrave’s demise at the end of the first season. After all, Jessica’s PTSD causes hallucinations featuring Kilgrave, so it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility to bring the actor back for a few of those sequences since they’re not likely to stop just because he’s dead. However, as showrunner Melissa Rosenberg pointed out to Digital Spy, the show isn’t about him:

”I mean, if you have David Tennant you want him around forever. He’s such an extraordinary actor and one of the loveliest people you’d ever want to work with. But the show is called ‘Jessica Jones’, and it’s about Jessica’s arc.”

Neither comment really gives us some solid confirmation on either topic, but they certainly fuel the speculation of True Believers that is known to run pretty wild until something official comes out. So while we wait for that first poster, synopsis, or trailer for these upcoming projects, feel free to speculate in the comments below.
