We’ve already seen Kristen Wiig and the rest of the new Ghostbusters suited up in the famous tan coveralls for the new reboot movie.  But get ready for a new, even more moody and dramatic image.  The movie is due next July and shooting is wrapped, so now all that’s left is post-production, including inserting the CGI spectres that the new hunters will encounter.

From the sound of things, the new movie is inspired by the first, which came out back in 1984, but is a hard reboot set in a new world in which the first didn’t happen.  We already know that, like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis’ characters in the original, Wiig and McCarthy start out as academics whose paranormal interests are dismissed as hokum, who must then go private with their investigative endeavors.

My first reaction is “Woah, that Leslie Jones is HUGE!”  Is she 7′ Tall?  Wow!

But secondly, these ladies look ready to kick some serious undead ass!  They appear to be standing in an art deco-inspired hotel.  One of the most iconic scenes in the first ‘Ghostbusters’ also took place in a besieged hotel, so this could be a nice reference to that.

The previous cast has apparently given this new take their blessing as most of them will pop up in cameos in the film: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.  In addition to Wiig, the new squad includes Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Jones as the new Ghostbusters.  Rounding out the new cast are Chris Hemsworth, taking Potts’ spot as the group’s quirky secretary, Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Kenneth Williams and Andy Garcia.

‘Ghostbusters’ directed by Paul Feig is slated to haunt theaters on July 15th, 2016.
