When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
The CW already went from the relatively grounded and realistic (to a degree) ‘Arrow’ to big loud comic book-y fun on ‘The Flash’. Now they are taking an even more ambitious step with its first colorful super hero team on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ which spins off from both their existing hits. Lastt week, fans were impressed with a bit of a preview in the two-part crossover event which focused on new heroes Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), who were lovers in ancient Egypt, reincarnated through history but always destined to be together.
This leads directly into ‘Legends’ which features both Winged Wonders, along with Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Jefferson ‘Jax’ Jackson/Firestorm (Franz Drameh), Mick Rory/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell), Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) as they are united by adventurer from the future Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to stand against immortal super villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
We’ve seen bits of these disparate characters in previous clips, but get ready for the most in-depth look yet in this new trailer, which sheds light on Savage and his mission. There were some questions about the status of Firestorm without Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) but here we see Jax Jackson in full super hero regalia in a suit that very closely mirrors the character’s comic book appearance.

In addition to the trailer, The CW has released a new poster, which gives an even better look at the characters:
