Potential spoilers ahead for ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ !!

Recently hitting the internet is a new summary of the film, which contains certain plot details involving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). The summary comes to us courtesy of Odeon Cinemas, which is a huge theater chain in the UK, which posted the summary on their site recently. Whether or not this summary was something they came up with on their own or based on information they received from the studio is unclear, but the details seems specific enough that I doubt someone would just make it up. Check out the full summary below:

At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.

Clark Kent doesn’t trust Gotham’s mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn’t trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.

Choose your side: the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight? Learn the answer to the age-old question – who would win? – in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.

So it seems that Luthor is not just a side character out to get Superman, but actually the one that is responsible for pitting the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel against one another. That would certainly fit with the Lex Luthor MO we have seen in the comics and other TV shows, and would help explain why the two heroes end up battling each other instead of resolving their differences in other means.

My question at this point is, why does Lex Luthor hate Superman so much in the movie? They had no interaction in ‘Man of Steel,’ and yes, you could say that in the comics he always hated Superman, but in the DC Cinematic World, we have yet to see the reason why Lex would have such a grudge with the Kryptonian. Here’s to hoping they take the time to explain that little detail at some point, instead of just assuming everyone knows Lex Luthor hates Superman and leaving it at that.
