While Marvel has yet to release a shot of Benedict Cumberbatch (‘Star Trek Into Darkness‘,’Sherlock’) as the Sorcerer Supreme, it seems that a lucky bystander was able to snag a shot of him on set for ‘Doctor Strange‘! This blurry shot might not be the best look at Cumberbatch in costume but it does show that progress is being made on the film and I suspect Marvel will now want a quality shot released sooner than later. Thankfully this Nepal resident felt that we needed something to see now.

Interesting enough the country has both suffered a huge Earthquake in the last year and is going through huge political outcry which almost feels surprising that Marvel is filming on site.

Still, the shot gives us our first view of Strange’s costume and this looks to either be what he’ll be wearing before learning the mystic arts or will be a riff on his more recent and grounded outfits.

Let’s take a look.

While I really can’t wait until a better shot, we at least know that filming is going forward. I suspect that this is more of a casual outfit than what he’ll be wearing when battling against the mystic forces of evil. With Scott Derrickson in the director’s chair we’re going to be in for something dark an this first shot seems to hint in that direction for the setting and suspect Strange’s final outfit will be the modern black and red one he has sported in recent years.
