Coming off of the massive popularity of the character and the phenomenal demonstration of his powers in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ it was a no brainer that Evan Peters’ Quicksilver would have an expanded role in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,‘ as the biggest complaint about his character so far is the fact that he was barely featured in ‘Days of Future Past.’ In a recent interview with ‘Details,’ Peters described the new movie as “the biggest ‘X-Men’ film” and went on to claim that “…it’s all about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge.” As far as his character is concerned, he teased the interviewer with the following statement:

“The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness. He tries to stop him from destroying the world.”

Which is logically the only direction his character could go, as they hinted about Magneto (Michael Fassbender) being his father in ‘Days of Future Past,’ and even in the comic learning about his ancestry was an important part of Quicksilver’s backstory. And of course, Magneto will have been persuaded to join Apocalypse’s quest to destroy the world (due to the ancient Mutant’s powers of persuasion), and become one of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse alongside Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Archangel (Ben Hardy), and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).

The real question is how director Bryan Singer plans to top the stand-out Quicksilver scene of the last movie, where he is shown running in slow motion around the statuesque Pentagon guards, taking them down while listen to the music on his headphones (which still bothers me, because if the idea is that everything is so slow because he is moving so fast, then the music would also be incredibly slow, with him taking down all the guards before even hearing a handful of notes from his earphones. But I digress).
