First thing we need to remember, is that reshoots are not always because a movie is floundering. All 3 of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies had extensive reshoots, which are often more about directors seeing the footage they have in the editing room and wanting to get shots even better, which is why reshoots are almost always factored into the shooting schedule and budget. And in the case of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ I suspect they kept reshoots in mind just in case they managed to get certain actors to come back in a limited capacity, which seems to be the case here.

For here at last we finally have confirmation that Hugh Jackman will indeed be making an appearance in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse,’ which seemed like it might not happen earlier this year, especially when Singer was practically begging Jackman to take part in the film during the ‘X-Men’ panel at Comic-Con. With the news of Jackman coming in for the reshoots, it seems clear that he is either going to be part of a small cameo (similar to his role in ‘X-Men: First Class’) or more likely, part of a larger scene wherein a lot of mutants are going to be fighting against the forces of Apocalypse. My guess is, they know it will be the last time they will have Jackman for a role in a main ‘X-Men’ movie, so they will want to make sure he is utilized as much as they can at this late point in the game.

And kudos to Mr. Jackman for being game to come back, as this officially makes sure his Wolverine will have appeared in every ‘X-Men’ film until he retires from the role, meaning he will have played the character over 16 years in around 9 movies (not counting the ‘Deadpool’ movie, though you never know…).

Are you pleased that Jackman will be coming back for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ ? Share your opinions below!

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
