We’re not talking about Jon Snow on today’s version of who is set to return to HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ for the upcoming season, but she is still a pretty great character.

While not on the show last year, we lost saw Gemma Whelan (‘The Wolfman’,’Gulliver’s Travels’) play Yara Greyjoy in Season 4 and is now set to return. In a recent interview, Whelan let it slip that her rumored comeback was imminent and I couldn’t be more excited! A strong character, the series has quite a few ways to truly flesh her out on screen and this should be setting us up for some amazing fight sequences. At the very least we’ll be getting more of her unique wit in the near future.

She didn’t say what we could expect for her part in the series or how much she would end up on screen but she did say:

“Even when I said I’m going to Northern Ireland on Wednesday to you just now, I thought ‘oh god, maybe I shouldn’t say that.’ You really watch your back on everything – ‘don’t say too much’. But at least it’s been leaked that I’m going to be in it, so I can talk freely about that.”

She isn’t heavily used in the novels past what they’ve shown us on screen so the inclusion will either be the brief piece not included in the series, or more likely, spoilers of the upcoming novel. Of course, with the entire Bolton story arc having a completely different twist than the books delivered we might just have some original content coming our way.

Are you looking forward to having Yara Greyjoy make her way back on set for the sixth season of ‘Game of Thrones’? Do you hope we’ll be able to see her in action or do you think it’ll just be a brief cameo? Share your thoughts below!
