Netflix’s highly anticipated new Marvel Comics series ‘Jessica Jones’ is still a month away from being available to stream and binge, but a new full-length trailer will be out this Friday and in anticipation of that, the service has released a new motion comic which recalls the painted covers of the original ‘Alias’ comic book rendered by David Mack.

Check it out below:

‘Alias’ was like no other Marvel Comic before, with it’s Parental Advisory label and explicit content.  The character Jessica Jones was created by the comic’s writer Brian Michael Bendis and was a tormented, drunk former super hero, attempting to rebuild her shattered life as a private investigator, specializing in cases involving super beings.  The comics were drawn by Michael Gaydos with Mack providing the lush, but still gritty covers.

Krysten Ritter stars in the Netflix series in the title role with David Tennant as her arch enemy Zebediah Killgrave, the hypnotic super villain responsible for her downfall.  Also featured as Mike Colter as romantic interest and fellow super being Luke Cage, Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper and Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker (based on comic book character Patsy Walker, a.k.a. the Avenger Hellcat).

‘Jessica Jones’ is the second Netflix show based on a Marvel Comics concept, following the very successful ‘Daredevil’ which is already filming a second season.  Also on deck are shows based on ‘Luke Cage’ and ‘Iron Fist’ and a miniseries called ‘The Defenders’ which is slated to include all four lead characters as a team.

“After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.”

‘Jessica Jones’ becomes available on November 20, 2016.  Will it become your newest obsession?
