By now, the world knows that the partnership between Marvel Studios and Netflix is a great success thanks to ‘Daredevil.’ True Believers are clamoring for more stories from this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even if the upcoming heroes aren’t as well known as Captain America, Iron Man, or the Hulk. And they won’t have to wait very long for the second series from the House of Ideas on the popular streaming service because ‘A.K.A. Jessica Jones’ premieres later this year. Now, the show following a superhero turned private detective that specializes in cases involving extraordinary abilities is currently filming in New York City, so we’re starting to see some new inhabitants of the MCU for the first time.

Previously, Marvel announced that former ‘Doctor Who’ star David Tennant and Mike Colter of ‘The Good Wife’ would be appearing alongside Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones as Kilgrave AKA the Purple Man and Luke Cage respectively. As production continues on this next piece of the ‘Defenders’ puzzle, we now know what these iconic characters from Marvel mythology will look like onscreen. First, we get to see the invulnerable Cage (who will be starring in his own Netflix series in the very near future) riding a motorcycle with Jones:

Then, Ritter is seen talking to the villainous Kilgrave. So far, very little is known about the MCU version of this character. However, for fans that have followed Tennant since his days as the 10th Doctor, he’s certainly looking a lot more intense for his part as the primary antagonist for Jessica Jones:

Finally, for those wondering how the Purple Man would be handled in the MCU, we have an answer. Rather than going with purple skin, it looks like Kilgrave will sport some purple wardrobe instead:

Now that we’ve seen Ritter, Colter, and Tennant, it’s only a matter of time until we get our first looks at Rachael Taylor’s Patricia “Trish” Walker (who comic fans might recognize as Hellcat) or Carrie-Anne Moss’ mystery character. Until then, what do you think about Kilgrave and Luke Cage? Do David Tennant and Mike Colter fit your perceptions of these characters? Let us know in the comments below.
